Huge Couple Of Weeks For Members Of Natives Organization

Huge Couple Of Weeks For Members Of Natives Organization

May 18, 2010

Just when things looked like they couldn't get any better for The Neepawa Natives organization....things did.

It was just over two weeks ago that Natives billet coordinator Mary Ellen Clark was honored on national television for the extraordinary work she does with the Natives organization.

Within days of that honor, Natives scout Murray Birch of Minnedosa was given Hockey Manitoba's prestigious Grassroots Award in recognition of Murray's contributions to the game of hockey in Manitoba.

Birch is an esteemed scout with The Natives organization, and is relied heavily upon to constructively assess the current team's players as well as future prospects for the organization.

Finally, two members of the Neepawa Natives Bantam program, and imminent MJHL Natives' draft choices Quintin Lisoway and Nolan Speiss were both named to Manitoba's top forty list for all 1995 born players in the province of Manitoba on May 15th.

In a season which included Natives' draft picks Cody Nelson, Brayden Cuthbert and Dylan Kuczek representing Manitoba at the Western Canadian championships (coached by Natives scout Peter Dueck), as well as Natives' affiliate player Chad Robinson representing Canada at the World Under 17 Championships, the accomplishments of Lisoway and Speiss make things all that much better for the community of Neepawa's hockey community.

Natives coach Bryant Perrier was excited about the developments.

"When people work as hard as our executive and volunteers, it lays the groundwork for success," he said. "Our players, scouts, prospects and organization's members are aware of the hard work that our volunteers and support staff put into things."

"Hard work and success beings more success. These accomplishments are the fruits of a wonderful community and a great group of people who love our program and community."

"Success brings more success."
