In what has been a very busy year of fine tuning for MJHL Draft 2010, The Neepawa Natives are heading into the draft with a full compliment of picks and future considerations to be able to pull off a tremendous day for the future of the organization. Here is the anatomy of those deals.


 
 
Deal 1 - December of 2009 - Natives Move a 6th round (6th pick) and a 7th round (6th pick) pick to Selkirk as part of Wes Pawluk deal.
 
Deal 2 - March 2010 - Natives move prospect Brent Pinkerton to Waywayseecappo for a 6th round (2nd pick) draft pick.
 
Deal 3 - March 2010 - Natives move their 1st (6th pick), 2nd (6th pick) round picks to OCN for OCN's 3rd round (3rd pick) and 6th round (3rd pick) picks and the rights to highly talented 1993 forward Curtis Oliver.
 
Deal 4 - April 2010 - Natives move prospect Jory Mullin to Winkler for a 6th round (5th pick) draft pick.
 
Deal 5 - May 2010 - Natives move 6th round pick acquired from OCN (3rd pick) to Selkirk for future considerations to be completed on draft day.
 
Deal 6 - May 2010 - Natives move 6th round pick (5th pick) acquired from Winkler to Selkirk for future considerations to be completed on draft day.
 
Deal 7 - May 2010 - Natives move 6th round pick (2nd pick)acquired from Waywayseecappo to Selkirk Steelers and also move the 3rd round pick (3rd) from OCN as well as their own 3rd round pick (6th pick) and re-acquire their original 6th round pick (6th pick) back from Selkirk. They also receive future considerations to be completed on draft day.
 
Deal 8 - May 2010 - Natives move the same 6th round pick (6th pick) to Portage as part of the deal to acquire Jordan Washburn.
 

 
What These Deals Have Helped Produce To Date

*Natives Top Scorer Wes Pawluk (70 points)
 
*High scoring forward Curtis Oliver who is expected to be a first liner in MJHL
 
*Veteran goaltender Jordan Washburn
 
*3 separate sets of future considerations from Selkirk Steelers to be completed on draft day on May 30, 2010
 
*5 draft picks to be taken in rounds 4,5,8,9,10
 
*Ability to maintain autoprotect selections of two of Manitoba's top players - Quintin Lisoway and Nolan Speiss who have both been named top 40 players in Manitoba for the 1995 age group.
