It’s raining bears in Neepawa

Stuffed animals flew through the sky and on to the ice at the Yellowhead Centre on Saturday, Nov. 7, as the Neepawa Natives held a Teddy Bear Toss

The event, which is a staple at many junior hockey league teams across Canada, asks fans to bring teddy bears or other varieties of stuffed animals to the game and throw them onto the ice during the first period intermission or after the first home team goal. The stuffed animals are then collected and donated to needy kids.

This year, 109 stuffed animals were collected from the festivities. The Neepawa Natives thank the community for their co-operation in this effort. Special thanks as well to F. Kozak and Sons and C & C Rentals, a division of Jacobson & Greiner Group of Companies, who sponsored the game, allowing it to be a free admission game.
