Jared Pelechaty headed to Seattle

Over the next week, Neepawa Natives defencemen Jared Pelechaty will gain some valuable experience in the Western Hockey League. The Seattle Thunderbirds, who have Pelechaty’s CHL playing rights, have called up the 17-year-old Winnipeg product to aid the club.

Pelechaty is expected to be with the T-Birds until February 11th and then will likely be returned to the MJHL. In 31 games this season with Neepawa Natives, Pelechaty has seven points (2-5) and 60 penalty minutes.

Neepawa general manger Myles Cathcart noted that Jared has been working extremely hard to reach his ultimate goal to play in the WHL, which he has now achieved.
