Natives Make Three Trades To Start Off The Summer

We have traded the MJHL List rights of Forward Garrett Hrechka (2002) to Dauphin for (2001) D-man Jared Twerdoclib. Jared played AAA for the Brandon Wheat Kings this past season who won the midget league.

Coach Schneider on Twerdoclib – “Jared is a quality kid, and is an all in team player, great defender and a great shot blocker.”

Jared – “I am very excited about being able to play in a town so close to home with a great local fanbase and coaching staff. All of this has me very excited about the season coming up.”

In our second move we have traded a 3rd round pick in this years MJHL Draft to Wayway for (2001) D-man Chad Smithson. Chad played for the AAA Winnipeg Thrashers this past season.

Chad Smithson – “I was excited to hear about the trade to the Neepawa Natives. I am honoured and looking forward to contributing to the team, and the community, I cant wait.”

Also, we have traded a conditional pick in the 2020 MJHL draft to the Winkler Flyers for twins Cooper and Cameron Morris (2002) , Cameron is a forward and Cooper is a Dman, they are from Anchorage Alaska.

Alaska Oilers Head Coach – “Cameron is a very intelligent player who has good vision and plays a skill game. He is very good off the rush and was outstanding on the powerplay. Cooper is a strong two way defenceman who values taking care of his own zone, with the ability to jump into the play and create offence. He leads by example and played on all special teams.”

Cameron Morris – “I am honoured to be joining a first class organization to continue my playing career and look forward to being apart of the community of Neepawa and the MJHL.”

Cooper Morris – “I am honoured to be joining the Neepawa Natives and the wonderful community. I am excited to continue my family’s experience in junior hockey in the MJHL.”

The would like to welcome Jared, Chad, Cooper and Cameron to our organization as well as wish Garrett the best of luck going forward with his hometown Dauphin Kings
