Robby Moar Hired as Marketing Director/Assistant Coach

The Neepawa Natives are pleased to announce the hiring of Robby Moar as the team’s Director of Marketing and Assistant Coach for the 2018/2019 Manitoba Junior Hockey League season.  Moar is no stranger to the Natives’ organization as he played with the club from 2011-2014 serving as the team’s captain in his final season. As a hockey player, Moar was one of the hardest working players on and off the ice in the team’s history exhibiting dedication and leadership during his tenure with the Neepawa Natives.  “It has come full circle for the organization bringing back alumni to work within the program,” stated Natives’ General Manager Myles Cathcart, “Robby is a personable young man, dedicated alumni and an extremely hard worker. He always led by example on and off-ice and we are looking forward to him continuing his work ethic in the area of marketing and coaching.  He possesses leadership skills and will have a rapport with the community. He will be a great fit with Coach Howden.”

Moar graduated from the Natives’ program and recently completed his four years with the Minot State University Beavers hockey club,  playing in the ACHA, where he earned the respect of coaching staff and teammates by wearing a letter for three years with the organization. He is currently completing his degree in Business Administration and Marketing receiving he an award for academic excellence.

His former Minot head coach Wade Regier had high praise and wished him the best of luck in the future, “Robby has been a part of one of the greatest recruiting classes in our program’s history. Robby’s work ethic and dedication to the game allowed him to develop into one of the best penalty killer and defensive players in the country. Off the ice, Robby was a leader in every sense of the word. This included receiving the Caley Cox Memorial award his senior season. This award, highest honour within our program, showed his dedication to the team and to the community. We are proud of everything he has accomplished and look forward to him bringing these qualities to the Neepawa Natives hockey team.”
