Johnson to join Marian University

The Neepawa Natives are pleased to announce the commitment of Zach Johnson to Marian University for the upcoming season.  “Zach has been a leader on and off the ice for the past two season with the hockey club.  He is a skilled hockey player and a character person.  We wish him the best of luck in the future” , stated General Manager Myles Cathcart.  Johnson played in 109 games with with the Neepawa Natives and tallied 25 goals and 50 assists. Natives Head Coach Dustin Howden  spoke highly of the veteran forward, “Johnny was a hard working player on and off the ice and his leadership was apparent every time he was at the rink.  Every day was an opportunity for him to master his craft and he developed into a confident two-way hockey player.”

Marian University Assistant Coach Coach Matt Berger had this to say about the 20 year old forward,  “We are extremely excited to have Zach joining us at Marian next year. We have been watching Zach progress as a player for the past year and can’t wait for him to join the winning tradition Marian has had over the past decade. His skill set, hard-work, and team first attitude are all traits that benefit Marian to getting back to the NCAA National Tournament.”
