The Neepawa Natives are proud to announce that Cody Shearer has committed to Midland University, for the 2021-22 season.

The Warriors are a Division III (NAIA) program in Fremont, Nebraska that compete in the Great Plains Athletic Conference (GPAC).

Shearer, from Wawanesa, MB, joined the Natives in 2019 and played in 45 regular season games for the Natives and becomes the 6th member of the 2020-21 team to commit to a school.

Shearer had this to say about playing in Neepawa, “During my time with the Natives I have been fortunate enough to spend my time alongside great teammates and a great community in Neepawa. The coaching staff, billets, and community go above and beyond for the players. I will always remember the relationships made with teammates, billets, coworkers and the community of Neepawa. I am very excited to continue my hockey career and begin my education at Midland University with the Warriors.”

The entire organization would like to congratulate Cody, and wish him all the best in Freemont.
